December 21 was winter solstice, the longest night of the year. In Vancouver, that means a narrow window of daylight. While I’m not particularly vulnerable to SAD, I did feel rather depleted when it turned darkish by 4pm yesterday.
Maybe it’s my massive Lonely Planet write-up, which always seems intractable until I’m perhaps 75% done. It’s nice to see the light at the tunnel’s end, whether in work or in winter!
Blog posts will be sporadic till February, but I had to mention these Footstickers designed by Nike EMEA. More minimalist than ToeSox, they might unobtrusively solve the slippage problem (which I can experience with or without sticky mats).
They come in three styles (the one for yoga is actually more minimalist but I prefer the full forefoot coverage here).
What I want to know: How do they stick to feet? And what will they think of next? As I hear longtime yoga practitioners say, “I remember when we didn’t even have mats.”
What will they think of next? 🙂
Good luck with your write-up! I know that in between feeling.

Hi Luci! I have SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) so I get depressed in the winter months, and don’t get around to reading my favourite blogs!
Don’t worry – you won’t lose your loyal readers – you write well & about relevant things — people return to blogs they love.
